Wednesday’s Devotional - Love Through Action
Scripture
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, ‘The one who had mercy on him.’ Jesus told him, ‘Go and do likewise.’” — Luke 10:36-37
Word
The Good Samaritan’s story shows that love isn’t just a feeling—it’s an action. He didn’t let inconvenience, cultural differences, or personal cost stop him from helping someone in need. Jesus calls us to do the same, showing mercy and love to everyone around us.
God calls us to see and respond to the needs around us. Sometimes, being a good neighbor is as simple as pausing, noticing someone’s pain, and choosing to act. Your kindness could be the answer to someone’s prayer today. Jesus said, “Go and do likewise,” reminding us that love requires action. Take one step today to reflect His love to someone in need - Even if it’s just a smile, compliment, hug or warm gesture.
Today’s Prayer
Lord, Thank you for always loving and being there for me in my time of need. Open my eyes to those in need around me. Give me the courage to act and show Your love through my actions. Show me what it means to be a good neighbor in my life today.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
