Friday’s Devotional - Finding Faith Amidst the Flames

Scripture

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Ready - The Word

In times of trial, such as the devastating wildfires affecting our Southern California communities, it's challenging to find reasons to rejoice or give thanks. Yet, the Apostle Paul encourages us to maintain a spirit of gratitude and constant prayer, even amidst adversity. This doesn't mean we ignore our hardships; rather, we acknowledge God's presence and sovereignty in every situation.

As the fires rage, displacing families and causing destruction, we can find solace in turning to God with our fears and concerns. Through continuous prayer, we seek His guidance and strength, trusting that He is with us, even in the most challenging times.

Set - Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the midst of these wildfires, we turn to You. Grant peace to those affected, protect the brave firefighters, and provide comfort to the displaced. Help us to rejoice in Your unwavering presence, to pray without ceasing, and to give thanks for Your unending love and protection.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
